Nourish Your Body with CCF Tea: An Ayurvedic Digestive and Detox Elixir

Today, I’d like to introduce you to a potent Ayurveda tea recipe – CCF Tea, named after its three key ingredients: Cumin, Coriander, and Fennel. This ancient blend possesses incredible digestive and detoxification properties. If you’ve been struggling with issues like bloating, gas, indigestion, heartburn, post-meal discomfort, or pregnant digestive issues, consider incorporating this tea into your routine. Once you experience its positive effects, you’ll want to make it a daily habit, especially during the cold, windy, and dark Fall and Winter seasons, to support your digestion and gently detoxify your system. Why CCF Tea?

CCF Tea, composed of just three herbs, holds a special place in Ayurvedic tradition due to its remarkable digestive and detoxifying properties. It benefits everyone, regardless of their constitution (Vata, Pitta, Kapha). Whether you’re considering a cleanse, struggling with digestion, gearing up for the upcoming holidays, or simply seeking to diversify your tea collection, this blend of cumin, coriander, and fennel is a must-try.

The Recipe:

Creating CCF Tea is a simple process. (However, if you prefer a ready-made option, you can easily find it online through Amazon or a Google search for “CCF Tea”.)

Gathering Your Ingredients:

Combine equal amounts of whole cumin, coriander, and fennel seeds. You’ll be pleasantly surprised at how accessible these herbs are.

Proper Storage:

To maintain freshness, store your herbal blend in an airtight container, such as a glass jar or a zip-lock plastic bag.

Brewing Your CCF Tea:

Once your blend is ready, making the tea is a breeze.

Measuring and Boiling:

Use 1 teaspoon of the seed blend for every 1 cup of water. Bring the seeds to a gentle boil for a few minutes.

Steeping and Sipping:

Cover the pot and allow the tea to steep for 10 minutes. Afterward, strain it, and you’re ready to enjoy. You can add sweetener if you prefer, but it’s delicious on its own.

Frequency:

Ideally, aim to enjoy this tea at least once a day, though you’re welcome to sip it as often as you like. And don’t forget, it doesn’t need to be piping hot; room temperature works just fine.

Benefits from the herbs:

Cumin: stimulates digestion, gives a gentle detox, and relieves congestion.

Corriander: improves digestion, relieves gas, promotes urination (when there is stagnation) and offsets spicy food.

Fennel: improves digestion, is slightly cooling and promotes healthy breast milk flow in postpartum women.

Those three ingredients are the classic Ayurveda way to make CCF Tea. However, if you are feeling creative and what to add to this blend, any of the following herbs are great choices and I have put some of the benefits to using those herbs:

Grated ginger, which will make the drink more warming to the body.

Fresh mint, which will be cooling to the body.

Cinnamon & Licorice, which will be moistening to the tissues and mucous membranes of the body.
